What is Grief & Bereavement Counselling?

“Grief counselling offers you an opportunity to talk about your experience and feelings of loss in a safe, supportive environment. ”

Even though there are many ideas around ‘how to grieve’, which can be useful at times, there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Our own experience of grieving will be as unique as we are. Grief counselling can provide a safe space of support and understanding. As a grief counsellor with my own lived experience of grief, I take a client-led approach – gently sitting with you, deeply listening and allowing what is needed to surface. I support people through a wide range of grief experiences. You may be grieving the death of a loved one, or feel stuck in your grief process and unable to move forward. You may have experienced the traumatic death of someone you know or be experiencing grief through the loss of a relationship, caring for a loved one who has dementia. Or you may have received a cancer diagnosis, and are coming to terms with your own mortality. Whatever your experience, it’s okay to ask for support.
